Boiiing, boiiing, boiiiing….

That’s the sound of my alarm clock, waking me up at 6:45 this morning. I know, I know, it should be some kind of sin to wake up on a Sunday to an alarm clock! However, I had to go to a neighbor’s house and check on their cats while they’re away for the weekend. They have the two cutest cats ever! They’re both soo friendly and cuddly. Don’t tell Clarabelle, but they don’t have attitudes either 😉

So, I told myself I’d go over there and pay my neighborly dues, then come back, hop in bed and get my Zz’s on. Ha! No such luck. My brain was already turned on for the day, therefore it wouldn’t let my body go back to sleep. Oh well. Hopefully I can get to bed early tonight.

Last night we had a pretty good time! Our friends came over, and we chatted and drank for a few hours, hoping the fireworks display wouldn’t be canceled. We can see them from our backyard, so when it came about the time they usually set them off, we set up a tarp (on the drenched grass) and waited. And waited. And, then, finally they started the show! Although it was very cloudy, and the smoke was blowing our direction so we couldn’t see them very well, it was still a blast. There’s just something about watching fireworks, whether it’s an amazing display or just an OK display. It still just screams summer 🙂 And I love that.

Throughout the night, I had 1 or 2 more Corona’s then I intended, but drank them slowly over the course of the night, so I feel fine this morning. Albeit, I am hungrier than I usually am first thing in the morning – which is surprising since I was the sweet jalapeno jam’s biggest fan last night 😡

So, I woke up today and made myself a breakfast sandwich. I made it like I made Shane’s from yesterday, but instead of cheddar cheese, I used a hunk of cheese we got from the farmer’s market – a white cheddar with apricots. It was an interesting combination, more or less. I also subtracted out the turkey slice from mine. With some blueberries…oh I love blueberries.

And my usual cup of joe, with the usual offenders to sweeten it to perfection!
I have a busy day ahead of me. My parents are having a get together for their anniversary, and then the bbq we were supposed to go to yesterday got moved to today. Ay yay yay…Sunday’s are usually my lazy days! I like to think of Sundays as re-group days- getting mentally and physically prepared for the week ahead. So we’ll go to my parents’ house around 11, hang out there, and then come back in time for the party at 3 or 4. I have to make my famous oatmeal scotchies sometime between there too.

You might have noticed I haven’t had any “meat meals” yet in my blog. (I picked off the sausage and pepperoni off of my pizza, btw.) Well, it’s not because I’m trying to be a vegetarian. Actually, on Friday night, I was quite the opposite. We went to a Brazillian Steakhouse for the first time, and while it was delicious, I think I ate enough meat to last me a few days… My tummy was not happy with me when we got home.

Got lots to do! Luckilly, it’s my rest day for working out. Tomorrow it’s back to pounding the pavement with a quick 3 mile run before work though! I love rest days, because they give me a chance to become excited for my next workout.
