Today’s been a long day already! On a positive note, I’m so proud of myself because last night I went to bed early, around 9:15, and woke up early, around 4:30, and worked out! I got in an hour-long sweat session before the sun even came up! I did:
– 40 minutes of intervals on the elliptical
– 3×12 biceps with 10 lb weights
– 3×12 rows with 10 lb weights
It felt awesome! I was drenched in sweat, just like I like it a the end of the workout. Plus, it was nice knowing I won’t have to work out when I got home from work tonight.
Since I only work a half day on Fridays, I have to make up the hours Monday-Thursday. So those days I’m at work from 7-4:30. Makes for long days, but it’s so worth it at 11:00 a.m. on Fridays!
Then, I was just getting ready to leave for work, and I heard a gurgling noise from little Niko. She was getting sick! She stayed at my parents’ house this weekend, and must have gotten into something. My heart just breaks when she gets sick, because she’s so small and just looks so pitiful. Being the good Niko mom I am, I called my work and let them know I’d be late. I stayed with her to see if she’d stop or if I’d need to take yet another trip to the vet. Luckily, after about an hour, she stopped and perked up a little bit. I’m still worried, though. Hopefully she’ll get enough water throughout the day to stay hydrated. The funny thing is, I told my mom yesterday that I wanted another dog. I think this is God’s way of saying, “oh no you don’t, Paige!” haha -Perhaps the hubby will go home on his lunch break to check on her.
At least I was able to do some dishes and laundry while I was waiting for her to feel better. However, luckily I was able to get my workout in already, because tonight that’s going to be replaced with mopping the floors…ick.
Speaking of workouts, I created a new workout schedule since I completed my 5K race. Now, I’ll be training for my 10K race in September, and then another one in October. For September, my goal will be to finish, while for October, my goal will be to finish with my best time. I’m putting the final touches on them, so hopefully I’ll be able to post it when I get home from work today.
And I almost forgot, it’s Monday, which means it’s Good Mood Monday! On this Monday, I’m thankful for:
-getting my workout in and not skimping on sleep at the same time
-my puppy getting (somewhat) better after being sick
-Bob and Tom radio on the way to work (hey, it got some laughs out of me)
-my new blender
-my parents’ being able to watch Niko while we were gone
-being able to use Panera’s free wifi to blog from!
