A Blood Thirsty Crowd

Hey there 🙂

Every year when October 1st comes around, I think “oh, it’s Halloween this month.” But it’s a fleeting thought. The thought that leaves as soon as it entered my brain, and then I don’t think about it again until ohh…30 days later.

So every year on the day of the Halloween party I’m attending I’m either running around town putting together a costume or worse, rummaging through storage digging out last year’s costume.

Needless to say, Halloween isn’t a huge holiday to me 😉

I wish I were one of those people who knows what they’re going to be for Halloween the week after this year’s Halloween, but I’m not. I love summer so much that even thinking about Halloween too early brings about memories of freezing cold nights and big heavy coats.

But every year when it comes around, I figure out something last minute, and it always ends up being a blast 🙂

So yesterday morning after getting in a six miler on the treadmill and training a client, I set out to buy a couple costumes:

Some how some other stores’ bags got in my car, too 😉

So what are we going to be?

Definitely making vampire noises instead of saying cheese for this picture – heh

Sure it’s a little generic, but seeing that I have a recent obsession with True Blood, it fit the part. Plus, it’s an easy costume! After a couple selfies (self-timer-pictures) we headed to Kristin’s to par-tay!

Surprisingly, we were the most dressed up out of all the people at the party. Well, I take that back, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth (my friends Doug and Heidi) gave us a run for our money;)

Kristin and her hubby, Gaston, the pirate hosts:

Kristin went all out on the decorations with scary music, spider webs, tons of Halloween themed food, and eyeballs (which were used later for beer pong! Beer pong?!)

IMG_0744 IMG_1379

During the night the whole group played some cards, played Apples to Apples, and then finished off the night with a little beer pong! What a fun night!

IMG_1380 IMG_0742

Shane and I headed home a little before midnight. We were getting a little hungry and didn’t want to feed on our victims 😉

The Halloween festivities continue today with a trip to the Frightening Farmer’s Market and then a walk on the Haunted Trail!

For those who dress up for Halloween, how far in advance do you get your costume? Is it a 3 month long scheme or a day of rush?

Best costume you’ve seen/heard of this year so far?

Yesterday I Lied

How is it already August? Every year on August 1st, a little piece of my dies inside. August means it’s the last month of summer (well, you know what I mean.) Call me crazy, but I’d be one satisfied sista if summer were the only season of the year. Why I live in Illinois still we’ll never know…

So. I’m extremely tired today but can’t seem to nap. You see, yesterday I lied.

I didn’t train clients.

I didn’t shop.

But the means justified the end…of keeping the surprise party a secret!

Kim and her fiancé Jason, Shane and myself all drove to Chicago to surprise the heck out of our best friend, Destiny. It was so difficult talking to her on the phone! I felt pretty bad for keeping the convo short – on her birthday – for fear of letting it slip.

It was worth it 😉

On the drive up, I packed a salad w/ romaine, chopped tomatoes, a hardboiled egg, feta, and balsamic vinegar:

Shane and I got there a little early, so we hit up Trader Joes (!!!) and had a dance party in a random church parking lot before the big surprise

IMG_0149 IMG_0150

Totally necessary.

Then it was surprise time!

A couple hours later, we were walking to a cute little beer garden and restaurant called Fat Duck.

Errr DuckFat, rather. Not an appetizing name if you ask me, but it did have appetizing food!

We started with a round of drinks. I had a ginger basil mojito.

IMG_0161 IMG_0163

It was good, but I’m pretty sure they forgot the ginger and basil :-/

And I ordered a vegetable wrap for…2nd lunch?

Those sweet potato fries were outstanding!

IMG_0166Look at the flaked sea salt! Love 🙂

After lunch, and a couple hours of catchin’ up there were more surprises! We all headed over the the real party, where Destiny was greeted by all her family and friends!

Plus she got to see her mom’s new weiner dog that I was thisclose to putting in my purse and making a run for it:

All at once now…awwwww 😀

She was very much genuinely surprised.

At the party, I had a few wine spritzers (wine + club soda)

I also had a mozzarella and tomato skewer which was phenomenal!

At this point, I was getting pretty tired, but it was a birthday and the show must go on! Of course, we had to say “prune” for the camera:

Evidenced by the look on Jason’s face in the pictures, our significant others definitely think we’re quite odd. Well, we are.

A little later, the game plan changed and we hit up a couple local pubs where dancing the night away ensued.

Another half a wrap may or may not have been consumed before hitting the sheets 🙂

Shane and I headed back to town pretty early today. I think I fail at being a good wife because I fell asleep the minute we started driving home only to wake up 2.5 hrs later when we were turning onto our street back in Normal. Shane said it was the longest drive of his life. Doh!

Back home, I made an energizing juice using 1 beet + 2 carrots + 1 apple:

And then finished it off with an oat bran waffle. Whole wheat flour trumps oat bran flour when it comes to waffles, guys.

Topping ingredients:

I’ve been trying to muster up some motivation to make today a work day since yesterday was all fun, but productivity has yet to rear its head.

But I’m off to keep on trying 😀 Perhaps a nap will help… 😉

How was your guys’ weekends?! Do anything fun? Get any relaxation in?

Well I should probably go make myself somewhat presentable. My parents watched Niko for the night while we were gone and are bringing her back in here in a few, and we’re planning on going out for Mexican food while they’re here. Actually, I think I’ll try to convince them that pizza is definitely a better choice today. A thin, crispy, sourdough veggie pizza. Yes, please!

PS – How do you like my new header? It’s the first time I’ve changed it in…ever! 😀

Bridal Parties Bonanza

Heyyyy guys! Having a great weekend so far? There’s still a bit left – soak it up! 🙂

Mine went by at lightening speed. It was pretty packed from Friday afternoon until today. Instead of making this post a mega post, I’ll tell you about it in sum.

Saturday after my morning client, I was a mess trying to leave in time. Whirling around town running last minute errands, and then again around my own house trying to get everything together, I made it out of the house and into town an hour later than I had planned. Not bad by my standards. It was one of my BFF’s bridal shower and bachelorette party who I’m a matron of honor for, and I knew I wouldn’t be driving home that night.

I only had a 45 minute trip but as always, I packed road fuel:

The usual suspects (ice water, green monster, granola bar) plus an iced coffee.

When I made it to my parents’ house, I made a veggie sandwich on whole wheat, because as a vegetarian, I never know if I’ll be able to eat at parties:

I also did some yard yoga, because that’s how I roll:

IMG_7586 IMG_7588

Alas, there was plenty of veggie-friendly fare at the shower, so I ate a second lunch. That’s also how I roll 😉

Great set up!

The shower was lovely, and I think everyone had a great time. I know Jessica did – and she got a lot of wonderful things:)

After presents were opened and we chatted a bit more, it was time for the inevitable group pictures.

IMG_2122Bridesmaids!! 🙂

Then we took it outdoors a bit later before heading out for the bachelorette portion of the night:

For the first half of the night, we headed to the winery where Jessica’s getting married at!

It was really cool to be there and think about how she’s going to get married in the same spot in about a month!! It’s a beautiful winery, and she’s going to be SUCH a gorgeous bride. Gah.

Jessica and her bachelorette glass:

We had a table reserved, and after several tastings, each got our own bottle

IMG_2136I chose a riesling, and guys, this bottle did me in.

Bottoms up!

I’m not the drinker I once was. I didn’t even finish my bottle! It didn’t help that they didn’t have anything I was able to eat there…but I made with do:)

While everyone else ate pizza (none was available without meat – they tried though 🙂 ) I snacked on some popcorn:

We left when the bottles were (mostly, heh heh) finished, and headed to a bar down town where we danced and had a great time! Oh, and I had my second course:

I whipped that bad boy out of my purse in the booth we were sitting at in between songs, haha

And once back home to my parents’ house, I had a real meal:

Peanut butter and jelly! And water.

I was slow moving at first this morning, but as I got going, I felt a lot better. This sustaining breakfast helped me out a bit too:

Sometimes I feel like green monsters can fix anything…

I hit up the gym, worked on some websites, did some detox yoga, and talked with a client, and then I was already hungry for lunch:

My favorite baked tofu atop a bed of rice and baked asparagus. My baked tofu recipe will soon be in the recipes tab you see at the top of my page. My friends Jessica (the bride) and Steph (in the purple) convinced me this needs to be done. And it will be done. Promise! Got the tab up there now, so it’s in motion!

I also ate my weight in watermelon today 🙂

Well I’m off to go finish cooking dinner and then get in some relaxation time. I’ll see you in the morning with a somewhat TABOO topic post. Yikers!!

Don’t forget to enter my NuNatural’s Stevia Giveaway! It ends tonight at midnight!

What was the wildest bachelorette party you’ve been to if you’ve been to one? I’d have to say mine was for my girl Mel’s bach party four years ago. It was a willlld night and I was in rare form!

A Quarter of a Century Old

Hi guys! Welp, I’ve officially joined the quarter of a century club. The big 2-5 was yesterday.
Sorry I skipped on posting yesterday, but I was busy celebratin-g!

Speaking of celebrating, I have LOTS of shenanigans to tell ya’ll about. Grab a snack and your kombucha of choice, because I got a lot of writing ahead.

It started on Friday when I was done with work (which was a looong afternoon!) I grabbed the hubski and we headed out to meet some friends at Gill St. Bar:

It was one of my friend’s birthday, too. So we celebrated with a beer with her. But we didn’t stay long, because we had some plans…

Like going to the (only!) vegan restaurant in town!

The Coffeehouse!
This is in the Uptown section of town, very close to the university.

I used to walk down this street ALL the time to go to different shops (and perhaps a few pubs ;)) when at ISU. Memories…

However, for some crazy reason, I’d never been the Coffeehouse – this was my first time!
It’s very eclectic, and had such a variety of patrons. I felt I could be very much myself here.
We found a quaint little table in the back and looked at the menu.

It was SO hard for me to choose, but I ended up going with the…

Falafel pita:

and a hummus plate…

and oven fries…

ok well we shared those two 😉
The hubski got some vegan chili:

And EVERYTHING was delicious. They also had vegan baked goods:

But that’s for another trip 😉 I wanted to go back for lunch yesterday LOL. Oh but I will be back, for sure. The prices are amazing and so is the food!

Perfect birthday Eve dinner 😀

Came home and it was relaxation time. I almost decided to had a glass of wine, but I had my 10 (!!) mile run planned the next day, so I went with some tea instead. Yes, I ran 10 miles on my birthday. It sounded good up until the night before. Then, I thought, why? why would I plan a 10 mile run on my birthday?!

The Looming 10 Mile Run

I woke up feeling the same way, but there was no way out of it. It was mid forties and sunny, but windy, and damnit I was gonna do it.
Cooked up some breakfast for a little fuelage:

Banana oats w/ raw almond butter and organic jam!

And a few hours later, I was getting ready to head out to the trail.
This little guy helped me get some motivation:

One of Shane’s birthday presents to me:D
And while we’re on the subject, he also got me a BOSU trainer:

and a (pink!!) golf bag!

However, I think the golf bag and set is partly a present to him. He’s been asking me to play golf with him forever. I guess this is the summer! haha We’re not an active couple or anything… 😉

I was so excited to use my CamelBak on my run. I filled it with about a liter of water, and also stowed some Clif shot bloks and my car key in it:

Ready, Set, GO!

I ran on the trail because I knew the trees would help block out the wind. And boy I’m glad I did, because the wind was a-howwwling! The first couple miles I was kind of a downer and the number 10 just kept intimidating me. But by mile 3, I had gotten past my 2-mile-hump and had a good groove going. And around mile 5, I saw a sign for the David Davis Mansion (the house Abe Lincoln lived in when he lived in Bloomington) so I ran around the circle drive of the mansion. It was super cool – I had never been there before either. I wish I would have brought my camera. Next time I’ll remember to do so 🙂 Around mile 6, I remembered why I saved my 10 miler for my birthday (or it just so happened to be on my birthday, but I digress..) I was elated! Breaking a record and enjoying nature. Love, love, love it.
Around mile 7, I got a really bad cramp in my right calf, and stopped to stretch, ate three shot bloks, and then kept on going. Though the cramp didn’t go away, it faded a little. However it’s definitely painin’ today. I had a 4.5 mile recovery run planned for today, but I think I’m going to take it easy. Plus, I may or may not have a slight hangover, as well. What? You can’t judge a girl for having a few brewski’s on her birthday! More on that below… 😉

Ended up finishing in 1:37:03 with an average pace on 9:42

My Splits:

Mile 1: 9:44
Mile 2: 9:44
Mile 3: 9:53
Mile 4: 10:00
Mile 5: 9:57
Mile 6: 9:14
Mile 7: 9:47
Mile 8: 9:41
Mile 9: 9:41
Mile 10: 9:23

10 miles, baby!!!

Phew! I was glad I kept my average pace under 10 minutes, but I wasn’t as speedy as last week’s long run. Next week is 10 again, so we’ll see if the pace changes then.

Directly after showering, dressing, and green monstering:

1/2 banana, ice, almond milk, Amazing Grass, frozen cherries, hemp protein powder
I headed out with the hubski to get some THAI food!!! Can you believe I’ve never had Thai food either? We were first going to go to Flavors of India, our fave Indian restaurant, but apparently they’re closed for renovations :-/

Not to fear, we decided to hit up a Thai place:

Shane got a sampler, but it was all meat-based, so I sat there while my stomach ate my back bone for an appetizer.

And THEN came the grub:

I got the tofu pad thai and it was out of this world delicious. I love Thai food!!!

Somehow the afternoon FLEW by, and it was already time to head into Peoria to meet some friends for dinner and drinks.

note: shortly before I wrote this post, ALL of my pictures from last night got deleted somehow. I started freaking OUT, and then remembered my husbands a technology genius. He was able to recover MOST from last night. The rest I’ll steal from the other people who had cameras 😉

A big group of friends got together for mine, and my girl Mel’s birthday for dinner at Granite City.

These are seriously some of my favorite people in the world, and it means so much to me that they all came out to help me celebrate 😀

Before dinner, I had some sort of fruity drink. It had chambord in it, so I was sold 😀 I had one, and then switched to some water with dinner…which was:

A portabella melt with some grilled asparagus. It was aight. Not stellar, but I definitely ate it all :D

My girl Kim, who you’ve met during my cruise posts, and who now has her own blog, Sunny State of Mind (check it out! She’s just started a new Gluten Free diet/lifestyle and she’s writing about it, her fitness, eats, and fun 🙂 ) got me THREE Alternative Baking Co. cookies:

And a shirt from Destin that says "Peace, Love, and Sandy Feet" which is SO me. I have awesome friends. Just sayin’.

After dinner we all headed out to a bar for some more shenanigans!

Gah. Love these girls!

I probably only had three beers (only?) but I also had some birthday shots. I’m typically not a shot girl, so I’m not feeling the hottest as I write this post 😉

For some reason, we say “prune” instead of “cheese” after a few drinks 😀 hahah

The mens..including the hubski who was my wonderful DD for the night:D

CONVAR29We headed out around midnight and Shane and I made the drive back to Normal.

I couldn’t resist eating half err a third of one of my birthday cookies on the way home 😉

I have a couple new clients tomorrow, so I’m off to Borders to get some paper work and plans done! Later on, my mom, dad, brother, and SIL are coming to visit and go out to dinner 😀 The celebration continues!!

Hope you’re having an absolutely fabo weekend!!

Time’s a Changin’ and a PDR!

Morning all! Happy Daylight Savings Time! Remember to set your clocks ahead?

So how was everyones’ weekends? Mine’s been filled with good fun and good company!

One Friday a month I get together with a group of girlfriends for wine, shenanigans, and bunco, and this Friday was one of those nights! It was such a blast. Like I said in my previous post, it was one of the girl’s birthdays, so it gotta little more crazy than usual 😉

Oh, and everyone loved the balls I brought 😀

Birthday cake…that I never got a chance to try! Oh but don’t worry, there were other goodies sampled 😉
I didn’t end up winning anything, but it was a great time, nonetheless!

After a night of indulgence (i.e. glasses of wine and an abundance of sugar) I had a nice, stabilizing breakfast:

Oat (bran) in a jar!

In the jar of goodness was:

-1/2 c. oat bran
-1/2 c. water
-1/2 c. almond milk
-1 packet of Purevia
-1 T. hemp powder
-1 banana
-About a T. of almond butter

Then it was time to get ready for a long run. The weather was rainy and about 45 degrees, so it was a bit of an internal debate on whether it was happening inside on the dreadmill or outside on the road. During the couple hours it took to digest breakfast, while I was majorly indecisive as to whether I’d run in or outdoors, I received THREE packages!

Here’s a couple of em:

Birthday Lulu’s!

My mom got me some of the new Wunder Groove crops, and I am in LURVE with them. Two best styles combined into one, if ya ask me!

Another package was from Ryan at POM Wonderful, who sent me a case of their 100% pure pomegranate juice to sample:

Review and experimentations coming soon 😉

After tearing into my packages, I finally decided on manning up and hitting the open road.

I used map my run to determine my route, but ended up getting a little more than I bargained for…

At what should have been the half way mark, I was already at 5 miles, and around mile 6, I ate to Clif Shot Bloks I packed in the bottom of my water bottle:

And got back to my house after 8.5 miles total, 1:22:46 later I got back to my house not feeling too shabby aside from my right hip being a little tight.
Stats n Splits:

Mile 1: 9:39
Mile 2: 9:46
Mile 3: 9:57
Mile 4: 10:06
Mile 5: 9:43
Mile 6: 9:48
Mile 7: 9:38
Mile 8: 9:29
Mile 8.5: 9:02

Woot! Average pace was 9:44. Not too shabby!

And that, my friends, is a personal distance record for this girl!  Yep, the farthest I’ve run is 8 miles. This…is was 8.5 miles felt like:

It also finally feels like running season has officially started for me. I came back with blisters and a wound (warning)

Let the race season begin! 😉

After a quick shower, I made a delicious refueling Green Monster:

This GM contained a little more ingredients than the ushe:
-1 frozen banana
-1/2 c. frozen cherries (which are natural anti-inflammatories)
-1 T. maca
-1 T. chia seeds (great for joint lubrication)
-1/2 scoop of choc. protein powder
-1 T. almond butter
-Almond milk
-2 handfuls of spinach

So good, and kept me full for a good few hours, even after a long run!

After a little laziness, the hubski and I headed out and braved the rain to do some runnin’ around town. We were on the hunt for a nice centerpiece for our kitchen table! We seriously went to about six stores looking for the right centerpiece, and finally settled on this beaute from Pier One:

Whatdya think? Doesn’t it go perfectly with the painting behind it?! I love, love, love it:D She’s a keeper.

While we were out, I polished off this lovely bar:

Quite the fantastic bar, if I do say so myself!

Also sipped on this as we were bumming around:

Around 5, we picked up a couple Papa Murphy’s pizzas and headed home!

IMG_5910 IMG_5911
These pizzas were for the company we had over last night! My brother and sister-in-law came down for some pizza, movie, and family time and it was a blast! While the pizzas were cooking, we just hung out in the kitchen for a while talkin’ up a storm, munching on some snacks, and sippin’ on some drinks:

My SIL loooves Kahlua, so I knew she’d join me in an after dinner drink of decaf and Kahula + cream:

We sipped on this while watching Couples Retreat. It was a pretty good movie! Kinda hokey at times, but overall, a good flick, in my opinion! It was so nice to see them – seems like it’s far and few between that we get together like this. Wish I woulda gotten a picture!

Well it’s already almost noon! The time’s a changin’ and it’s catching up with me! On the agenda for today:

  • gym with Heidi for a run and legs
  • grocery shopping
  • going through LLC and other self-employed business
  • laundry
  • floors

Yikes! It’s a busy one!! Better get crackin’ 😀

Have a beautiful Sunday, everyone!!

Which daylight savings do you prefer more? Springing ahead or falling back? I’m a HUGE fan of springing ahead. I hate when it gets dark so early! When it stays lighter later, it reminds me of barbeques, long evening walks, and SUMMER!

Food, Friends, & Football

Goood morning! Happy Super Bowl Monday 😉

CONGRATS to the Saints for the BIG win last night! Go Saints!! 😀

Yesterday after my morning post, I accidentally lied about my work out! I had planned on doing a full body weights sesh, but forgot it was day 2 of my half marathon training plan! So instead, I did (as planned) a three mile run + back and biceps. Was in and out in an hour and it felt great! I’m feeling very confident in my running thus far into my training 😀

After picking up a few last minute essentials for our Super Bowl party, I came home, cleaned, and finished preparing all the food. But first, a quick refuel:

Brown Rice Flour toast + cottage cheese + best jam ever.IMG_5309

Best jam ever = Fresh Market’s Organic Strawberry Jam. Love Plus some random odds and ends while finishing up cooking.

And then, I cooked.

Quinoa Confetti Casserole from Eat, Drink and Be Vegan:

After…oh, so gooood.

Meat meat balls (in homemade BBQ sauce)

MeatLESS balls

Hot wings and Tequila lime wings

Got a request for Averie’s raw chocolate vegan balls (and they did NOT last long, lemme tell ya ;))

And the rest of the spread:

Which included cookies, biscotti, two types of hummus, veggies, crackers, chips, guacamole, and store-bought salsa.

Best salsa I’ve ever had.

After the food was taken care of, it was Super Bowl time!! But this Super Bowl didn’t involve any Colts or Saints, just puppies, half time kitties, and bunny cheerleaders!

Flag for being too Rrrrruff!

Then we had a few couples over and ate tons of food, drank lots of beer, and cheered on the (real) Saints!

Luckily, Clarabelle took charge and took care of every one in the beer department.

No kitteh, that’s my Bud Light!

Since I do have to work this morning, I kept the beer to a minimum, but still had an awesome time with awesome friends!

A little before 10:00, everyone headed home, and it was time to wrap the party up!

Haha, as I was cleaning up the kitchen, I heard a noise over in the corner, and couldn’t figure out what it was, until finally I saw…A kitty in a bag!

Hope you all enjoy your Monday. Start this week off with a great attitude, and hopefully the attitude will follow you into the week 😀

Did you “do” Super Bowl last night? I paid attention to part of it, and mingled with friends for part of it, and LOVED the commercials. I think both the game and the commercials were great this year!

Fish Food Salad

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, everyone! Whoop whoop! Haha OK…so I’m not that pumped for the game, but MY team was out LONG ago *cough* Bears *cough*

Did ya’ll have a fab Saturday?

After breakfast yesterday, I headed straight to the gym to hop on one of the 3 working treadmills to get in a 5 mile run in. Luckily, my favorite one was open, so I hopped on, tuned in to America’s Next Top Model, and conquered those 5 miles in 48:56. It was a lot easier than I thought. Ever since my last race last year, my mileage has decreased. But now that I’m training again, it’s time to amp it back up!

Next, I headed to three different grocery stores to get some essentials + Super Bowl foods! While shopping I had an unpictured Kombucha + half a vegan oatmeal raisin cookie. Delicious 😀

I only had about an hour before I had to leave to go to Peoria, so I showered and grabbed a piece of leftover Amy’s pizza and was out the door.

One of my girlfriend’s from back home’s daughter is turning two, and she had a birthday party for her at the coolest place ever. Basically it’s like an amusement park for kids:

OK and maybe some adults..IMG_1601

Gosh, who would do that?? I’m just a big kid 😉

After the party, I headed on back home, where I started on laundry and getting a little food prep out of the way for today.

We’re just having a few people over, but on the menu here in the ran household is as following:

  • meat balls and bbq sauce
  • wings

  • Meatless balls and bbq sauce
  • Quinoa Confetti casserole from ED&BV
  • Guacamole & salsa and blue chips
  • Cashew hummus and veggie sticks/crackers
  • Cookies, cookies, cookies!

Knowing that I’d have a lot to do, I prepared a LOT last night:

Homestyle chocolate chip cookies

Spice cookies

homemade BBQ sauce

Creamy Cashew hummus from ED&BV

Phew! I was beat after this.

Between rounds of cookies, I broke for dinner. I wasn’t all that hungry since I had been taste testing all night, but decided a salad would be a good dinner.

Romaine, spinach, red and yellow bell pepper, goat cheese, red wine vinegar, EVOO, and dulse flakes. I picked up some of these flakes after trying the seaweed salad last weekend at Hyashi. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of smelling them first. They smelled like fish food. Blech. Naturally, the whole time I was eating the salad, I tasted fish food. Needless to say, I ate about half the salad and threw the other half out. Ya win some, ya lose some, right??

I also some leftover chickpeas from making the hummus, so I decided to mix them in maple syrup, coconut oil, and rice vinegar and roast them to have with my dinner:

Shane came home not too much later from a bachelor party he was at, and we watched a couple epi’s of Big Bang Theory while I had a “second” dinner:

My own Mix My Granola that I had been sent (review to come soon!) – and then called it a night.

Nine glorious hours later, and I awoke wanting to try out a new product I got from the health food store yesterday!

Maca is supposed to provide energy and help with hormone stabilization. Here you can read more about the benefits of Maca powder

I had tried it, but just in the form of Angela’s RUN Glo Bar, and I thought it gave me lots of energy then. So this morning for breakfast, I mixed 1/2 t. with another 1/2 t. of cinnamon, and then put it atop some Barney Buttered Brown Rice Flour toast and a Barney Buttered nanner:

It was pretty good! Slightly sweet, though it mixed very well with the cinnamon. I think this might become a staple!

Plus some beet, carrot, apple, and spinach juice:

Well I better get crackin’ on my to-do list! It’s a pretty lengthy one to get done before tonight!

First off to the gym to do a full body weights sesh. The maca powder better live up to its standards 😉

Do you like to “play” like little kids do? Or are you more of a sit back in watch the kids-type? Obviously I have to join in on the fun. I could never turn down a water balloon fight, bumper cars, or an oversized play house. Obviously 😀
