Super Charged Thursday

Heya friends!

Happy Friday!! How is everyone doing? good? Good!

Yesterday was a mega long day. It started at 6:00 a.m. and went straight through until dark. I powered through, though, and it wasn’t as hard to get through as I thought, like usual 😉

After my morning client, I headed to work all day. Around noon, a few co-workers and I went to lunch:

Panera! Greek salad + black bean soup. It was nice to break for lunch with some friends. Luckily, I’ll see most of them at bunco every month 😀

After I put in the eight hours, I headed to the Humane Society to pick up my orders from a fundraiser I did last month. I’m so happy they came in yesterday, because the majority of orders were from my coworkers. I got something called Peanut Butter Crumbles? I’ve never had them, but everyone said they’re amazing. They’re Katherine Beich.

The humane society is on the way to the gym, where I went next to train three more clients. All went well. I love training and love all my clients 😀

Dinner was quick, simple, and delicious.IMG_6821 Farm fresh eggs + vegetarian baked beans:

Yellow bell peppers + hummus:

After doing a little laundry and watching some RHONY, I got a little craving for something sweet. The craving was for something crunchy, chewy, and somewhat healthy; definitely not the ice cream we had in the freezer. Then my memory took me back to this morning while reading Susan’s post about reading Naomi’s post about making SUPER CHARGE ME cookies.

I followed suit:

IMG_6825Ate one myself, and took two down to the hubski.

I pretty much always say “down to Shane/hubski” every time I mention him. I swear he doesn’t live in the basement. He just works down there 🙂

This morning I woke up and wanted something energizing and healthy!

Went with a green smoothie in a bowl:

Topped with Ezekiel granola, as always!

Well it’s getting pretty late. I better skidaddle!

Today I have work (last day!) then a couple clients. If it’s not too late, I might make the trek over to my hometown to see a close girlfriend. Shane got pulled into some work tonight, so we’ll see!

Have a lovely Friday everyone!

Yoga time!

Hey hey! How’s your long weekend going? Mine’s going fab 😀

This morning I woke up and made a bowl of Kath’s Carrot Cake Oats:

It was super good…but definitely not as good as the bananaberrybutter oats I’m used to having. However, if I would have added some nut butter, I’m sure they would have measured up. I looooved the idea of the icing – it was so good 🙂

After that digested, I was off to the gym to meet up with my girl Heidi. We did 40 minutes of some cardio, and then I was off to a yoga class. This was the first yoga session I’ve taken in for-ev-er, so I was a little nervous. Alas, it was awesome! I might just make a habbit of Sunday morning yoga. It felt so good – I really needed it.

Afterward, I headed to the store to pick up some agave nectar since I was making Super-Charge-Me cookies this afternoon.

What? There’s agave nectar there!! Ugh, I totally meant to come out with the agave only. But I was SO pumped to find the rest! Especially the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl PB & Co. peanut butter. I’m super excited to try this.

Lunch was from a box:

I added in some onion and mushroom for extra nutritional value.

And then sprinkled parm and basil on top!

Both Shane and I loooved it.

Then I made my go-to party snack: guac, and some super-charge-me cookies, from Eat, Drink, and Be Vegan for dessert!

Now it’s max and relax time until tonight’s festivities! We’re going to a cookout first, then a poker tourney. I’m definitely in the mood to relax, though, and could probably stay horizontal in the theatre all night. However, I’m sure once I get to the parties my party-mood will kick in!

Question: What’s your favorite way to make oatmeal?

Last Minute Details

Shane made a comment this morning while I was getting ready for work about how he doesn’t think I can leave the house if I’m not running around in a frenzy. I definitely don’t want to be running in a frenzy tomorrow before the race, so I’m making sure I’ve got all my bases covered.

I’m already mentally (mostly haha) and physically prepared for this race, but now I just have to make sure I’m literally prepared to get my butt to this race.

I’ve already got my accessories ready and waiting for me: iPod, headphones, HRM, chest strap, lulu headband, water bottle.

Next I had to gather my race-day-outfit. This was pretty fun. I love putting outfits together, even if it’s a workout outfit. Call me lame, that’s fine. So I decided on my Champion pink shirt and bra from Target with my Nike Tempo shorts, wick dry socks, and Under Armor white hat:

And of course, my Asics Gel Nimbus shoes

I also figured I should have my breakfast picked out, so I could make it, eat it, digest it, and go. I’d been struggling to decide what the pre-race breakkie should be for a couple days now, but when I went to go eat some almond butter today, I discovered an almost empty jar, and thus, my race day breakfast dawned on me.

Oats in a jar, duh! 😛

So I think I’m prepared for before the race, but what about after??

Well, for after the race, I (finally) made some Super Charge Me Cookies!!

Going into the oven:

And preparing to go in mah belly.

Mixer shot!

Ooh yeah. They got the seal of approval by both my dad and the hubski. This means regular cookie lover approved 😉

So these will be consumed post-race, and I’ll most likely take them with me to the Jimmy Buffett concert tomorrow for everyone else to share 😀 We’re going to be tailgating for a few hours before the concert!! 😀 I actually wish I had made more…

Speaking of the concert, I also have to pick out an outfit for this event. Would you be willing to help? I’m trying to decide between two outfits:

1. Maxi Dress from Target:

With jean jacket (if needed, but it’s supposed to be a scorcher)

2. Jeans and a cute tee

Urgh, I’m just being indecisive and I can’t pick! I know it’s just a concert, but I’m being wishy washy between the two…

Thanks for your help:D

What do you do to help be prepared for an early morning event?
