Hi there! How’s Tuesday treating you? Mine’s been pretty routine, but nothing too stressful or bad, so that’s good!
This morning I had my first shot at wearing my orthodics! Be jealous.
I wore tennis shoes to work today, because I’m not so sure they’d work with sandals, haha. Then I left the house forgetting to slip them in my shoes. Luckily they were still in my purse from the day before 😉 So at my desk, I slipped them in:
Tendinitis, be afraid. Be very afraid. Weird looking, huh? I seriously don’t know how this is supposed to fix my ankle, but we’ll see. In this morning’s post, ya’ll left a lot of comments on how they work, so I’m trusting you 😉 I slipped them on around breakfast time and wore them until lunch. Speaking of breakfast, today was a new Breakfast Cookie! Woo hoo!!
- 1/3 c. oats
- 2 T pumpkin
- 1.5 T of vanilla almond butter
- 1 t pumpkin pie spice
- 1 t agave
- a small handful of chocolate chips
I was seriously in yumtopia land.
I had a meeting at my usual lunch hour, so I spent lunch at my desk. Fun times. I had some plain Oikos, a gala apple (YUM) and I made the wrap of which I am obsessed:
I ate this while I read the book you see in the back ground.
The wrap was obviously a Flat Out wrap, and it was flat out amazing. I just smushed a nanner in a bowl with 1.5 T of almond butter, then sprinkled on a T of flax. Really, if you haven’t tried this, please do…it will about knock your head off 😀
I kicked it at a few meetings and had a little productive time at my desk, then around 3:30, I consumed this lovely little Lara Bar for my pre-run snack:
Oh, and throughout the whole day, I listened to Wunder Radio on my iPhone. iPhone users, if you don’t have this app, you need it! First I listened to the rest of Bob and Tom, then I listened to the West coast’s Bob and Tom, and then I revisited my Hawaiin honeymoon by listening to the station Shane and I fell in love with in Maui. Speaking of honeymoons, our anniversary is about a week away!! 😀 (September 27th <3)
My run ended up being at the gym, because I know treadmills have better surfaces to run on, joints-wise, and I thought it’d be wise for my ankle. I’m a bad patient and I pounded out 5.5 miles. Shane was a little PO’d that I ran that far. But, but, but…I have a 10K race this Saturday! The only day I’ll run before it is Thursday, and it will be a gentle 3 miler.

It was a good run for being on the treadmill. Usually I hate those things, but today it wasn’t bad at all. There were several other runners on around me, and I think I fed off of their energy 🙂 I’m pretty sure dinner will be leftovers tonight, with what all the awesome food I’ve been cranking out of my cookbook this week! I have a zucchini I need to do something with before it goes bad, too. I would really, really like to get a spiralizer so I could make real zucchini pasta! I saw one on Missy Maintains today, and I’m so jealous! 🙂
Question: If you work out after work/school, what’s your post-workout routine? Do you stretch, eat, shower? shower, stretch, eat (etc..)?
